Privacy at Starting Over in Bali

Your app answers

Without an account, your answers, budget, profile, stay choices, notes and score history are saved in this browser. When you sign in, the app saves them to your account on our server so you can continue on another device. This device may keep a temporary copy until a save succeeds. You can export or import your answers in Profile. Clearing answers removes the progress in your account and on this device.

Deleting an account

If you select Delete my account and confirm with your password, access stops immediately and the local copy on that device is cleared. Your account and saved app data stay in the active database for a 14-day recovery period. You can sign in and explicitly restore the account before that period ends. After 14 days, the active database record is deleted. Server backups may have a separate retention period, and copies on other devices cannot be remotely erased. Data already sent to OpenAI for a report cannot be recalled by deleting this account.

Account and sign-in

We store your email address and a securely hashed password for sign-in. A secure, essential session cookie keeps you signed in; it is not used for advertising. Password recovery by email is not available yet, so keep a backup of your answers.

Optional AI report

Only when you click Generate my report, the app sends your answered questions, calculated scores and history, profile, stay choices, personal note and exact budget amounts to OpenAI to write the report. These details are not sent to OpenAI merely because you use the app.

Google Analytics

We use the Starting Over in Bali Google Analytics 4 property for limited page-visit measurement. Analytics storage and advertising storage are disabled, so this setup does not write Google Analytics cookies. Google may still receive cookieless measurement signals. We do not send your app answers or budget entries as Analytics events.

External services and links

Pages load fonts from Google Fonts and images from our app domain. Links to immigration or other external sites take you to those sites, which have their own privacy practices.
